Born in 1991 in northern Jutland, I grew up in the countryside with both parents and siblings with passions for the biology. However, I decided to deviate slightly from the norm in our family and chose geography studies instead. I am an educated Geographer with specialization in Global Environmental Soil Science and Climate Change from University of Copenhagen. I finished my cand. scient degree in May 2018.
I have worked at Center for Permafrost (CENPERM) since 2014. First, as a student assistant while writing my MSc thesis and after this as scientific assistant until I started my PhD fellowship at CENPERM. The title of my MSc thesis was "Spatial Variablity on CO2 fluxes and carbon budgets within a Greenlandic subarctic ecosystem". The title of my PhD project is "Arctic subsurface gas dynamics". I started on the project 1st of February 2019 and will finish in approximately 2022.
My geography studies has taken me to southern Greenland (Narsarsuaq) for many years to do fieldwork in the summer time and in 2019, I went til Svalbard (Ny Ålesund), which was an amazing experience as well. I absolutely love the nature, the fishing, the clean air and the silence of these "far up north countries".
You are welcome to also check out my LinkedIn to know more about me and my scientific work so far.
Born in 1985 in a small town just outside the Danish capital Copenhagen. I have studied, fished and explored the nature ever since I was a small child. So becoming a biologist felt liked the way to go. Through my biology studies I have been in very different corners of nature. I studied fish in my early career days. Then I went on to investigate amphibians and the disease chytridiomycosis. I slowly moved to molecular biology (especially environmental DNA) and how to use this as a tool within biodiversity, which led to adventures in the jungle in Tanzania. But Arctic and in particular Greenland has always had a special place in my heart. From my early biology studies and ever since I have had many trips and adventures in this amazing part of the world.
On top of this I have a passion for carnivorous and exotic plants, which I like to keep and grow in my greenhouse in Denmark. Additionally, I have a strong passion for especially fishing and taking pictures, which I also display on two other websites run by me.
... and a large thanks to my very patient parents for sticking up with and supporting all my crazy ideas
